Abstract
The present study was conducted to evaluate the performance of experimental rats : autoclaved, irradiated and untreated diets in SD rats.
Eleven male and female rats of 4 weeks old were assigned for each group for the experiment, the diets were treated at 121¡É for 20mins for autoclaved treatment, treated at 2.5 Mard of Co 60 for irradiated treatment and untreated.
The items of observation were chemical composition, amino acids in 3 kinds of diets and skeletal. visceral, urine, hematological values and biochemical value:: in each group.
The results are summarized as follows:
1. In the salts of feeds, autoclaved diet was increased than the others.
2. In the sodium ions of feeds, the autoclaved and the irradiated diets were decreased than the untreated diet.
3. In the amino acid values of feeds, Tyrosine and Lysine of autoclaved diet were decreased than those of untreated diet. Glutamic acid and histidine of autoclaved diet were increased than these of untreated diet.
4. The presence of extra-ribs were not observed in F1 of untreated group but 8 fetuses(8.7%) of F2 in the untreated group, 8 fetuses(.23.5%) of F1 and 13 fetuses(15.9%) of F2 in the autoclaved group and 2 fetuses (6.7%) of F1 and 11 fetuses(10.4%) of F2 in the irradiated.
5. Wavy ribs were appeared only 1 fetus(2.9%) of F1 in the autoclaved group.
6. Hypoplasia of Xiphoid process was appeared 2 fetuses(5.6%) of F1 and 6 fetuses(6.5%) of F2 in the untreated group, 7 fetuses(20.6%) of F1 and 19 fetuses(23.2%) of F2 in the autoclaved group and 4 fetuses (13.3%) of F1 and 21 fetuses(19.8%) of F2 in the irradiated group.
7. Specific gravities of mines in the autoclaved and irradiated groups were increased than those of untreated group.
